The garden group enjoys monthly meetings throughout the year with a varied programme of
talks, visits to private gardens which usually includes a guided tour and some group
members’ gardens.

We have had outside speakers talking on environmental issues affecting gardens and
gardening for mental health. Examples of knowledge shared by members at our talks
include: seed collecting, soil composition, and Australian flora. Each year we include a seed
swap and a members’ plant sale. Our What’s App group sometimes buzzes with ideas and
plant swaps.

Our garden visits are within an hour of Bradford on Avon and we car share to the venues.
Recent visits have included Westcroft, to see the snowdrops, Blacklands, to enjoy the tulips,
Woolley Gange to admire the walled garden, and Kilver Court to see the Autumn colours.

It is enjoyable to visit local gardens and share our gardening knowledge and tips. We
currently have 40 members and do not have a waiting list, so new members are able to join
immediately. We usually meet on the 4 th or 5 th Thursday morning of the month. The cost of
meetings vary, from £4 to £20 depending on the venue. Our average attendance is 15
people.
